Installing Windows 11 on unsupported hardware using a USB flash drive

Using an ISO file to perform a clean installation, the user should make a bootable media using a tool like Rufus or Command Prompt.

It is also worth making sure that the device starts from USB, and to do this, change the UEFI settings, which are different on many PCs.

Install Windows 11 on an unsupported PC:

  1. Run Windows 11 on the computer from the USB drive.
  2. Press any key to continue.
  3. Press Shift + F10 to bring up the Command Prompt.
  4. Now you need to type this command and press Enter: regedit.
  5. Go to this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup.
  6. Right-click on the Setup key – New – Key option.regedit
  7. Name the key LabConfig and press Enter.
  8. Right-click LabConfig key (folder) – select New – go to DWORD value (32-bit).
  9. The key is called BypassTPMCheck – Enter.
  10. Now double click on the created key and set the value from 0-1.
  11. OK.
  12. Right-click on the LabConfig key (folder) – select New – select the DWORD (32-bit) Value option.
  13. Call DWORD BypassSecureBootCheck – press Enter.
  14. Double click on the created key and set the value to 0-1.DWORD value
  15. OK.
  16. Next.
  17. Click on Install Now.
  18. When performing a reinstall, click on the “I don’t have a product key” option. If Windows 11 were previously activated after installation, the system would re-activate it automatically.I dont have a product key
  19. Select the edition of “Windows 11” to activate your license key.
  20. Check the box next to “I accept the license terms.
  21. Next.
  22. Now select Custom: Install only Windows (advanced option).
  23. Select each hard disk partition where Windows 11 will be located – press Delete. Attention: by deleting a partition, all data on the disk is erased along with it.
  24. Select the hard drive (Drive 0 Unallocated Space).
  25. Next.
  26. Choose region settings after installation on the 1st page of the out-of-box experience (OOBE).
  27. Click on Yes.
  28. Select keyboard layout setting.
  29. Click Yes.
  30. Press Skip to set up the second layout.
  31. If your PC uses an Ethernet connection, it connects to the network by itself. If wireless, you need to configure the link manually.
  32. Click Next.Name your PC
  33. After restarting, select Configure for personal use to configure a copy of Windows 11 Pro.
  34. Click Next.
  35. Confirm your email, phone number, and Skype for Microsoft ID and create an account.
  36. Click Next.
  37. Confirm your Microsoft account password.
  38. Next.
  39. Select Create a PIN.
  40. Create a new 4 digit PIN.Create PIN
  41. SELECT OK.
  42. Select Set Up as New Device.
  43. Next.
  44. Confirm the privacy settings by turning on/off the toggle switch for each setting.

  46. Once again, click Next.
  47. Choose Accept.
  48. Once again, click Accept or Skip in the new settings.
  49. Now select Backup my files with OneDrive to automatically upload your Desktop, Pictures, and Documents folder to the cloud. You can also choose Only save files to this PC.
  50. Click Next.
  51. Now select the No Thank You button, skipping the Microsoft 365 installation.

Windows 11 will be installed in an unsupported state by following these steps!

Upgrading to Windows 11 with an ISO file

To start upgrading to Windows 11, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Microsoft Support website.
  2. Go to “Download Windows 11 disc image (ISO)” to select the Windows 11 option.
  3. Click on Download.
  4. Select the installation language.
  5. Confirm.
  6. Click on Download.
  7. Right-click on the ISO file and select Open with – Windows Explorer.
  8. Click on the mounted disk.
  9. Select the Setup file to start the Windows 11 upgrade process.
  10. Choose the Not right now option.
  11. Next.
  12. Accept.
  13. Click Install to update the system, saving files and applications.
